Retro-futurist Educator
I suppose it’s that time…

I told myself earlier this year that I would write more blogs, but once again things changed and the blog was prioritized out. I was turned down by both TeachNOLA and TFA. My only assumption is that they did not want to have to deprogram me to reprogram me, as I already have my M.Ed. I only lack teaching certification to be a classroom teacher. So, I never moved to New Orleans. I never taught Science, but I am convinced it was for the best. Classroom teaching was never my goal. It was a means to an end. Maybe, they could sense it.

I recently sold everything I owned to move to Lewisville, TX. It is quite possibly the scariest, but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It feels great to be surrounded by opportunity. I finally feel inspired again and no longer feel like I have to settle for less than what I want from a career. I was also admitted into my Ph.D. program at the University of North Texas. I will be pursuing my Doctorate of Learning Technologies over the next few years.

I interviewed for a position in the Lewisville Independent School District today as a Technology Specialist for their Business Department. I am confident the interview went well and hope that I get the position. It would be a very interesting job that utilizes my skills. I am also looking forward to a job that challenges me. If you can’t tell, I’m excited for all of the possibilities in my future.

Once I find work, my life won’t be far from perfect. My kids are in great schools. I love the area. I do miss my friends, but once I land this job, I’m sure we will see more of each other. 7hrs isn’t that far and I live 15 minutes from the airport. I’m sure we will manage. I’ll be sure to update when I land a job and I’ll likely blog a bit more when classes start.

Until next time….

The best website you’ve never heard of!

You’ve probably seen this 100 times before. However, it still makes you go “well shit”.

Interesting read.

Being afraid isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes, you need that trembling feeling to remind you how exciting it is to be doing something new.
